Nowadays, segmented water control and intelligent completion have become mainstream technologies to extend well life, restrain water coning and optimize production performance.

Mechanical sliding sleeves are widely adopted for zonal regulation, which are conventionally operated by slickline. However, slickline operations are limited by high-angle horizontal trajectories, downhole debris and complex well conditions, causing inaccurate running and inefficient sleeve actuation.
To solve such operational challenges, we developed the 2.313in Coiled Tubing Bi-Directional Sleeve Shifting Tool. Integrated with upper and lower shifting modules, this single-trip downhole tool enables repeated opening and closing of multiple sliding sleeves via coiled tubing, greatly saving operating time and improving zonal control efficiency.
It features outstanding cross-brand compatibility, perfectly matching sliding sleeves from Baker, Schlumberger and Halliburton. Adopting reverse symmetrical shifting keys with straight and angled steps, it realizes dedicated sleeve closing and opening functions.
The tool is hydraulically driven by circulating fluid. Keys remain retracted while running in hole, and extend radially under hydraulic pressure to engage with sleeve inner profile. Following the basic rule of pull-to-close and push-to-open, the upper key closes sleeves steadily; after seating, the key retracts automatically to avoid sticking and ensure smooth retrieval.
Equipped with auto-reset springs and emergency shear pins, the tool builds up three independent release safeguards. Circulation stop triggers automatic key retraction, while overpull or overpressure can shear pins for forced release if stuck downhole, maximizing downhole safety.
The lower reverse key enables reliable sleeve opening with string slack-down or jarring operation. For multi-sleeve wells, it completes full-string sleeve actuation in one single trip. Compared with conventional multi-run slickline service, it cuts tripping time, avoids stuck tool risks and reduces fishing hazards, delivering safe and efficient intervention for deep and highly deviated wells.
