High-Torque Motor for Extreme Downhole Environments
The TORRENT All-Metal Downhole Motor is built around an advanced all-metal power section and engineered for demanding operations involving high temperatures, high differential pressures and corrosive fluids.
Compared with a conventional elastomeric positive displacement motor of similar size, the all-metal design can deliver approximately two to three times more torque per unit length. In properly controlled coiled-tubing mud systems, its service life can be three to four times longer than that of a conventional elastomeric motor.
Its high torque density, broad fluid compatibility and extended operating life make it a cost-effective solution for drilling, milling, cleanout and other downhole intervention applications under extreme operating conditions.
All-Metal Power Section
The motor uses a rotor and stator manufactured entirely from metal, eliminating the elastomeric lining found in conventional positive displacement motors. This construction minimizes the risk of thermal degradation, swelling and chemical damage caused by aggressive downhole fluids.
The all-metal power section provides high torque output in a compact assembly and enables the motor to operate in environments where conventional elastomeric stators may experience rapid performance loss or premature failure.
High-Torque Transmission System
A high-strength titanium-alloy universal shaft transfers torque from the power section to the output shaft. The shaft is designed to transmit higher torque while maintaining excellent corrosion resistance in acidic and alkaline environments.
This transmission system supports reliable operation during demanding milling, drilling and well-intervention activities.
Customized Motor Configurations
TORRENT OIL TOOLS can customize the motor outside diameter, number of stages, flow-rate range, rotational speed, torque output and end connections according to the operating program.
Low-speed, high-torque configurations can also be developed for specialized milling, cleanout and borehole-sweeping applications.
